Residential
& Commercial Tips
-
Check
foundation for points of entry - doors, windows,
utilities, (air conditioner lines, cable lines).
All of these areas should be properly sealed.
-
Remove
piles of debris such as bricks, wood, and stones around
your home. These areas harbor spiders, carpenter
ants, mice and more.
-
Keep
debris such as weeds, ivy and tree branches away from
your home.
-
In storage
areas, (basement, garage), keep items in
containers up off the floor.
-
Put bird
seed, dog food, hamster food in containers with lids.
-
Do not
keep piles of newspapers and magazines. These are
great places for silverfish to harbor.
-
Do not
keep your recycling or trash cans next to a door leading
into the house.
-
Kitchens -
make sure to put food away in a sealed container.
Do not leave food out uncovered or dirty dishes out
overnight. You will be surprised how fast ants
and/or flies will find these items.
-
Empty
trash cans on a regular basis.
-
Make sure
to check your attic for proper ventilation, not only for
effective pest control but also as a help to your
heating and cooling utility costs. Secure any
openings so birds, squirrels, mice and other pests may
not enter.
