HOUSE
MOUSE
Adult house mice vary in color from light brown to
grey. Under optimum conditions, house mice will breed
year round. While mice are active primarily at night,
some daytime activity does occur.
Mice tend to
travel over their entire territory daily, covering the same
route over and over again. Mice have relatively poor
vision and are color blind. They rely on smell, taste,
touch and hearing to detect and escape danger.
It is
difficult to mouse proof a home or building without
understanding the rodent's capabilities. A mouse can
jump 12 inches vertically and 8 feet horizontally.
They can travel for some distance hanging upside down and
they are very capable of swimming. The house mice
feeds on a variety of foods, (cereal, nuts, chocolate,
butter), and their two main feeding times are dusk and just
before dawn. A mouse usually does not travel more than
30 feet from its' nest. Mice droppings are
usually the first signs of evidence that mice are infesting.
United
Spraying Service has years of experience with controlling
invading mice. We initially inspect the premises for
anything that may be attracting mice and for any entrances
that may need sealing. Our elimination involves the
successful placement of baits and traps.
